Job Summary
The Laboratory Engineering Technician is responsible for activities in the water lab, conducting product testing, maintaining agency approvals, developing standard operating procedures, and testing methods.
Responsibilities
- Set up and perform testing on water equipment products, recording data, observations, and conclusions, and generating reports detailing results
- Confirm product performance by conducting verification & validation tests
- Develop operating procedures, standard testing methods, and verification and validation procedures for water lab
- Conduct analysis on incoming water samples to support our customers
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommends actions
- Manage agency approvals and submittals for water equipment products
- Prepare samples for agency approval testing
- Provide technical support on water equipment products and applications
- Partner with engineering and quality team members to resolve manufacturing related product issues
- Maintain water lab safety SDS records
- Participate in audits from regulatory companies (i.e., NSF, SDS)
- Work with Quality Department on product improvement requirements
- Assist in training/education for water related topics
- Participate in Drinking Water Treatment Unit (DWTU) joint committee meetings and Industry Forums as appropriate
Requirements
- Associates in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Technology (required)
- 3+ years product development laboratory testing and evaluation experience
- Agency knowledge (UL, CE, CSA & NSF) (preferred)
- Bachelor of Arts/Science in Physics, Engineering Technology, or Chemistry (preferred)
